  1. Hi,

You might want to post where you found that camera to aid the camera's owner in locating it.

    Cheers.

  2. Thanks. Great idea. I just edited the story text a bit, mentioning that I found it near the walkway bridge near the Basin. (The Basin is a natural stone formation, making a water basin for the river that rushes through it. It is one of the tourist stops along the Franconia Notch highway in New Hampshire.)

    Thanks!

  8. I think it's great, what you're doing for this family. One photo was at the ocean, and another, the mother holding her baby looked like she might be wearing a Maine sweatshirt. Have you thought of posting it on the Maine Craig list? Hope this helps you find the owner. Good luck! You're very kind. Anon

  12. Look at the picture with the woman holding the baby. The woman next to her has a band on her wrist with number 04709. Could send some e-mails to hospitals

  13. also...You can almost make out writing on that band. Maybe a name? Need a good piece of software to enlarge with better clarity.

  14. Assuming the camera's clock was set correctly, you should be able to pull EXIF data and determine the date and time of the shots. That may provide a pointer to help you locate the owner. Also, some cameras allow you to set an owner name which may get encoded into the EXIF as well.

  15. In the photo with the woman holding the newborn, the baby's footprint sheet is in the background on the heater. It looks as though there is a logo on the top right hand corner of that sheet. That combined with the date of the photo and the ID# on the woman's hospital bracelet should get you close (if the hospital will release any info or maybe even contact the family for you).

  16. you should check out ifoundyourcamera.blogspot.com. It's a cite just for this purpose. Nice coverage on WMUR by the way (that's where I just saw the story and decided to offer this tip for the other blogspot)

  20. that is great! I once bought a card for my camera at a thrift store and it was loaded with photos and I wondered if it had been donated on accident. I did my own investigating. In one of the photos there was a puppy with tags so I blew up the photo on photo shop, called the # and found the owner's parents.
I wanted to be a private eye after that.
    :-)
    hope you find these people!!

  22. I think u should post the classroom picture on here, someone might recognize that. Or even one of the birthday pictures, if its a party picture someone might recognize someone in it that may know who the camera belongs to ..

  23. also try camerafound.com

  24. can u please post more of the pictures?

  25. The first image sort of looks like an area in MArgate Resort, in Laconia, NH, about an hour from the Basin.

  26. In the hospital photo, the woman holding the baby might be wearing a UNE sweatshirt- (university of New England)...

like this one: (link to UNE bookstore)

If it is UNE,... maybe post the picture somewhere on campus or on an online bullitan board??

  28. I have been asking around. i wish someone like you had found my Nikon Coolpix camera that i lost on Febuary 14 sometime in between 10:00pm-10:30pm. In Orange County, California... probley in a cab. Well, i know California, someone most likely took it to keep for them selfs. but the joke is on them... they don't have the charger
